Floral diversity

The Italian Dolomites are famous for their natural diversity. In ancient times the
Dolomites have been coral reefs before the Alps were formed. Their sedimentary
limestone is formed from calcium carbonate and magnesium and offers a fantastic ground
for flowers as well as marine fossils. In spring many flowers start to bloom in the
weatherd grass, like the famous gentian, spring anemones or the tiger lily.
No other habitat offers such a floral diversity!
